First Guest Speaker confirmed for 'Transforming LGBT Lives' Conference

Emma Reed of the Government Equalities office will be joining us on 15th September and sharing her expertise and experience with the conference audience. In light of the recently passed Equalities Act, she will be talking about progressing social change for LGBT people within the national context.
Emma is the head of sexual orientation and transgender policy for the Government Equalities Office and has the lead responsibility for legislation which protects lesbian, gay and bisexual and transgender people against discrimination. This includes civil partnerships and the new Equality Act 2010. In parallel, Emma’s work involves developing new programmes for LGB and T equality, which include in the workplace, in civic society and on tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic hate crime.
